Guest Post: Nurse Kitty To The Rescue!

Greetings, humans. Amy is having a rough week and not feeling well, so once again I, The Cat, am stepping in to cover this week’s blog post. You may recall in my previous blog takeover I gave a thoughtful critique outlining my disappointment in how the film industry portrays cats. I was given practically no notice that I needed to blog this week, so unfortunately I don’t have much witty insight to share this time.

I will say, though: humans are quite pathetic when they’re sick. When I’m “under the weather” as the humans say — what does that even MEAN, anyways — I still manage to complete my daily routine. I hunt for toilet and/or sink water. I do my 3 AM sprints. I maintain my vigorous cleaning and grooming regimen. Life goes on.

But Amy just sits on the couch with a blanket and a box of tissues watching reality TV all day. I still haven’t quite figured out what she’s watching and why. Whatever it was, she was quite entertained by it today as she kept mumbling “oh no she didn’t” at the screen whenever she woke up. (She took a few micro naps and had to keep restarting the episode to see what she missed when she dozed off.)

I’ve been trying to make myself useful by offering my patented belly kneading massage therapy. She doesn’t seem to appreciate it and keeps telling me to sit down. She gets especially agitated when I give her Butt Therapy — sticking my rear in her face so she can benefit from its healing aroma — and demands I turn around. Ingrate.

I do feel bad for her, though, so I’ve been giving her lots of the therapy I know she actually does appreciate — purring. Here’s hoping that does the trick.

I anticipate Amy will be back in action next week. I’m going to start working on a blog post just in case. Until then, I’m off to take my 17th nap of the day. Being a nurse kitty is exhausting, and I will need my beauty sleep as I’m scheduled for another sink water hunt in an hour. Good night all!
